Will test in singleplayer first... I don't want to become the weakest part of the expedition.

Re: Inner Core Expedition #2562 - 05-12-12
Haven't understood a single word in Ryleous' post...
Anyway, reporting briefly about the cruiser.
The Forward Gun has now 1.00 refire rate, but apocalyptic hull damage of ~30000 per shot, and, what is more, nearly 2000 m range! Being totally alone, I killed 3 cruisers and seriously damaged one mothership. Unfortunately, they don't like to hang still in space... When they move, it's very hard to find a good firing position, too close is deadly, and too far they just disappear (damn multiplayer).
However, fighters are a real pain... Just to mention, I went 5 times to Dervon to kill 3 drones, and in IC it's quite the same. The cruiser is undisruptable when its shield is on, but some bombers are really fond of appearing in front of me, blowing away the shield and then firing CDs. Once I am in range of their guns I'm doomed, with my hull too weak and turrets unable to kill anyone that fast.
But one thing makes me really happy - the cruiser repairs almost instantly at bouys! So, unless I'm unlucky with those bombers, it goes pretty perfect with capital aliens.
Conclusion: expect one Liberty cruiser to join your army next Saturday.

@Cresthen: accept hugs? This info makes me really happy to know that my Liberty Cruiser can be really useful too . Perfect analysis btw! Hope we can talk 8th evening in space
p.s:
... and this only confirm to me that most of ppl is simply to lazy to check new stuff in 1.9 and how it works (offer fun) and instead they complain about everything. I'm almost sure that you are first who tried repair cruiser in IC.

Don't worry about it Cresthen... That wasn't directed at you or anyone else anyway except Seqan... Of whom I'm not very happy with right now.
Anyway, back on subject, I've got Scout5 on the ready at the SAOC in Omega-3 for departure this weekend. I'm also considering recommissioning Revelations "MKII" capship as a Liberty Cruiser before this weekend to perhaps take as our lead ship against the Dom capships on the IC expedition. What say ye gents? I've got roughly 180 million to put towards a new capship, so I must choose wisely, let me know what we need Forlon.

Re: Inner Core Expedition #2562 - 05-12-12
Scorpion is right, Kusari Destroyer is much smaller and (seemingly) faster then Liberty cruiser, it also has a forward gun with the same parameters but smaller projectile which is easier to aim. Also, its turrets fire 1 projectile per shot (those of Liberty cruiser fire 2) which do double damage in compensation, and seem more effective in battle.
Still, Liberty cruiser looks more... fundamental... Better for my personal taste, though worse in action. Screenshots with its forward gun will look awesome, while the destroyer offers just yellow photon balls flying out of nowhere...
Weak arguments when survival is on stake, but it's just my opinion.

Re: Inner Core Expedition #2562 - 05-12-12
Ahhhh well then... Revelations was a former Kusari Destroyer. Perhaps I'll just get it "upgraded" then, haha! Agility is a big factor in the Inner Core, if the Kusari Destroyer is a good mix of firepower and agility, then that's what I'll be going with. Thanks guys!

The guns with more than one barrel do less damage per projectile. I made a post about it somewheres....

Yes Sequan I'm saying the same Kusari Destroyer has less barrels (thanks for this word), but more damage per projectile.

Re: Inner Core Expedition #2562 - 05-12-12
Alright, got Revelations into "Phase II" as a Cayman to do the Ancients quest, once completed hopefully by Friday, I'll complete "Phase III" into a Kusari Destroyer after gaining access to the Inner Core. Later after this weekend's expedition I'll get the cloaking device for it, assuming I have enough credits to do so.(thanks again for the cash grant Forlon! )

Re: Inner Core Expedition #2562 - 05-12-12
glad to help Ryleous
And how are going technical preparations?: Repair ship is now in Pyrrdra (Mepther gate). Thx to Ben and Commander Raiden who did great job on escort. Also learned few more things about repair ship.
My liberty cruiser with cloak is ready and docked at SAC. Field tests with Cresthen tonight showed that those ships are deadly enemy fleets.
see you all 12th in space!
___________________________________________________________________________________
@Ryleous: Imo fleet structure which can be nicely working:
1) Duck BS (fast travel, CD resistant shield, cloak)
2) Cruisers: me, you, Cresthen, BCAfgun
3) fighters: Riebens, Raiden, Rex, Hexplore, guests?
This can allow us nice ability to withdraw ships (mainly cruisers) for repairs on RB (cca 10sec to repair 99/100 hull) and still have some to keep doom fleets locked and under continuous fire (they like disappear).
Will be nice if ships going for repair have all time 2 fighters as close defence and 2 fighters remain in primary fight area.
For Repair ship will be optional if will be possible move it to Sadurn (Pyrrdra gate) to ensure that Duck BS have possibility to fast repairs if will be needed. (actually is on gate Pyrrdra-Mepther gate)
Destiny for Dooms BSs :

Orion unfortunately you are not alone in living in a world where people do not schedule family events in advance !
The RL just catch me without possibility of escape.
I am unable to know if I will be at 2100 server time for the event.
Sorry to let go at the last minute ...
In any case have fun with or without me!

THANK YOU FORLON!
Thanks for leading the expedition in my unfortunate absence...
Glad there was a good turnout in spite of my absence, things went well, mission objective was completed and everyone had a good time.
Great job folks and I will schedule another in two weeks! (AND I WILL BE THERE THIS TIME DAMMIT. grrr... )
